Martie is a cancer survivor who lost her husband to cancer after she beat state 4 cancer. Presently her young daughter, who is the mother of three little ones, is fighting for her life due to cancer. Martie is a spirited, dedicated, and caring individual. She is passionate about "getting even with cancer...by helping others live". Our beloved Marti also beat cancer again on 1/15/2020.
Retired middle/high school teacher and cancer survivor. Ramona was able to do a great job as someone in the sandwich generation caring for an adult daughter and her 94-year-old mother, who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. Faced with cancer once again, Ramona is by the side of her husband as he continues with his treatment. She is very committed to Chase Away the Clouds and making the "Shelter from the Storm" a reality for the citizens of Idaho.
Jim is a native Idahoan. He was raised in Emmett, Cascade and Council. He is a Vandal and owned an insurance business in Nampa since 1977. He retired three years ago. He has a solid relationship with a lady he took to the prom many years ago and has three married sons and three young granddaughters. He is a Rotarian golfer and delivers Meals on Wheels in Emmett. He is enjoying retirement life and especially traveling to other countries for vacation.

Dr. Jacobs brought a lot of babies into the world before starting his practice at Transformations Idaho. Dr. Jacobs knows personally the hardship of traveling to obtain cancer treatment. His son is a brain cancer survivor and a great young man. Dr. Jacobs moved to South Carolina but continues supporting Chase Away the Clouds.
Gary served admirably on the Board of Directors until he lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2019. Everyone who knew Gary would describe him the same way “a very nice man.” Gary faced some challenges in his lifetime, but once he could experience life without the demons, he found beauty in everything he saw. He walked many miles around Nampa and took photos of things that you and I take for granted. His parents, Frank and Judy Lara, provided Gary with a wonderful time during his final year of life while he battled cancer.
If you wanted to know anything about forestry, you would ask Frank. If you wanted to know anything about many things, you would have asked Frank Lara. He didn’t reach the age of 92 without learning a lot! Frank was involved in many activities and was very active with Rotary in California and Idaho. He was a Paul Harris major donor who helped other Rotarians receive Paul Harris Fellow recognition. Frank was a dedicated Rotarian living by the four-way test! He was a past Assistant Governor in Rotary District 5400. Frank’s first wife passed away from cancer, and Frank fought lymphoma cancer for many years. Unfortunately, we lost Frank due to COVID. We miss him greatly and will never forget one of our original board members.
Chase Away the Clouds is very fortunate to have Randall Erickson, a self-employed accountant with an extensive background in business. He also served as a substitute teacher with the Antelope Valley Union High School District in So. California. Randall and his wife are all too familiar with cancer, and while his wife is now cancer-free, Randall is presently fighting for his life. His involvement is a tremendous addition to the Board of Directors.
